BADIN:

The central president of the All Pakistan Ladies Health Workers Union has condemned the abuse and violence against polio vaccinators in different areas of Sindh.

Bushra Arain, flanked by others, told the media on Friday that polio workers were compelled to perform duties in remote and insecure areas during the vaccination campaigns in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and other districts of Sindh.

Polio workers have reported incidents of mistreatment, harassment, torture, and even attempted abduction, Bushra said while describing these incidents as highly concerning.

"Such incidents pose serious threats to the safety and well-being of polio workers who serve the nation to protect children from disability, often for little compensation," she added.

Bushra demanded immediate measures to ensure the protection for polio workers during their duties.
