Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expanding their portfolio with multiple new projects, amid growing speculation about their financial stability.
Meghan Markle has wrapped up filming a cooking series for Netflix, part of a $100 million deal with the streaming service. The yet-to-be-named show, filmed in locations near their Montecito mansion, focuses on cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.
In addition to the cooking series, Prince Harry is developing a programme centred on a US polo championship, while Meghan is set to launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, later this year.
Despite these ventures, PR consultant and royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams expressed concerns about the couple’s finances if their Netflix deal, which ends in 2025, is not renewed. “If they lost this contract... they might well be in financial trouble,” Fitzwilliams told The Mirror.
With fewer donors to their Archewell foundation, the Sussexes could face significant challenges without the Netflix contract, which has been crucial for their income following their departure from royal duties.
