Disturbing revelations have come to light in the investigation into the grisly discovery of the bodies of a woman and her two children from a drain in Mauripur.
Police said that the post-mortem examinations have confirmed that the children had been subjected to rape by their tormentor who then dumped the bodies in the drain. They added that a chemical examination report is awaited to confirm the woman's rape.
Keamari SSP Faizan Ali disclosed that the bodies were discovered in Sher Muhammad village within the jurisdiction of Mauripur police station.
The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Ruqiya, his six-year-old daughter Fatima and two-year-old son Adnan. They had been missing for two days before their bodies were found in a drain.
The woman's husband, who works at a tyres repair shop, had reported the disappearance of his wife and children, leading to the grim discovery.
SSP Ali further stated that police investigators have obtained footage from CCTV cameras in the area which might help them identify the culprits. Statements from eyewitnesses are being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
