RAWALPINDI:

Adiala Central Jail conducted a mock drill to handle emergencies and security threats. Law enforcement agencies, including police, Rangers, CTD, Special Branch, Elite Commandos, Bomb Disposal Squad, Fire Brigade, and Rescue 1122, participated in the drill.

The mock drill was supervised by Adiala Jail Superintendent Asad Warraich.

The drill simulated an emergency where sirens were sounded, and all agencies responded promptly. Adiala jail police sealed all internal and external routes, cordoning off the area. Armed personnel deployed in the jail took positions in their bunkers and demonstrated how to repel a mock attack. Punjab Rangers took positions alongside other agencies and used various drills to prevent mock terrorists from entering the central jail premises.

The drill aimed to ensure the safety of VIP prisoners and the security of the jail's perimeter. Jail sources said the mock drill was a success, and all agencies worked together effectively to handle the simulated emergency.

Sources also said that during the mock drill, a practical demonstration of defusing explosive material was also carried out, in which bomb disposal personnel used modern equipment to defuse the explosive material without any damage.

To ensure timely coordination between security and rescue agencies, a mock emergency call was also made to the emergency services, and Rescue 1122 ambulances and fire trucks arrived at the scene and participated in the drill.

Sources said that during the mock drill, the security of VIP and high-profile prisoners in the jail was ensured, and a demonstration of transferring prisoners to a safe location in case of an emergency was also carried out.
