GAZA:

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza from ongoing Israeli attacks has surpassed 38,000, the Hamas-run health authorities said on Thursday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 58 and wounded 179 others, bringing the total death toll to 38,011 and injuries to 87,445 since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out in early October 2023, the authorities said in a statement.

The statement indicated that a number of victims are still under rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defence crews are unable to reach them.

In a separate press statement on Thursday, the health authorities warned that the electricity generators at the only remaining main hospital that provides service for patients in Khan Younis and Rafah will stop in the coming hours due to a lack of fuel.

It added that operations had already ceased in certain departments at the Nasser Medical Complex due to a lack of fuel for the generators, calling on urgent interventions from international institutions to provide the required fuel.
