Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing for special celebrations with their children, Archie and Lilibet, this week.
The family, who relocated to Montecito, California, after stepping back from royal duties in 2020, will join millions of Americans in marking Independence Day on July 4th.
In 2023, the Sussexes were seen enjoying the local parade in Montecito. Photos captured Harry, casually dressed, carrying daughter Lilibet, while Meghan and Archie joined them to watch the procession of floats and vintage cars.
Independence Day holds particular significance for Harry, as one of his first dates with Meghan took place on July 4, 2016. In his memoir, "Spare," Harry recalled, "[Meghan] walked in, wearing a pretty blue sundress with white pinstripes. She was aglow. I stood and said: 'I bear gifts.' A pink box… Red, white and blue cupcakes, to be exact, in honour of Independence Day."
The couple’s celebrations come amidst a challenging time for Harry, who is facing backlash over receiving the Pat Tillman Award.
