A sessions court in Lahore has rejected the interim bail of Mohammad Jamil, the husband of former Pakistani actress and model Zainab Jamil, in an attempted murder case.
The additional sessions judge, Qamar Abbas, presided over the hearing on Wednesday and dismissed Jamil's bail application due to non-prosecution.
Lahore's Defence B police station had registered a case against Mohammad Jamil, accusing him of orchestrating a shooting that had injured his wife.
The court's decision came after Zainab Jamil had accused her husband of being behind the attack during her treatment in the hospital.
In May, Zainab Jamil was attacked by two motorcycle-riding assailants outside her salon in the Defence area of Lahore.
She was struck by six bullets in the assault.
The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
According to SP Cantt Owais Shafiq, the shooters were identified as originating from Karachi.
They reportedly travelled to Lahore by air and returned via road.
The police have arrested five suspects connected to the attack.
