Pakistani video jockey and television host Anoushey Ashraf finally answered a question that single women, including her, have been tactfully dodging for years: Yes, she’s now married.

In a heartwarming series of pictures in an Instagram post on Sunday, the 41-year-old revealed that she tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family. The caption read, “Dear, why haven’t you gotten married yet? See, I just did,” she humorously quipped, addressing all those who had pestered her about her marital status.

Anoushey looked stunning in a white and gold chikankari outfit, paired with a natural makeup look that perfectly captured the effortless beauty of a traditional Nikkah ceremony. Her post also featured close-ups of the ensemble. She then shared a touching photo with her partner, Shahab, from another time, a moment that her sister, Natasha Qizilbash, also posted congratulating the couple.

The announcement quickly racked up over 27,000 likes and more than a thousand comments in less than a day, with many stars from the entertainment industry sending their congratulations. Pakistani actor Azhfar Rehhman, Sanam Jung, Bilal Maqsood from Strings, Ayeza Khan, fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar, and many others extended their warmest wishes to the new bride.

Anoushey first rose to fame as one of the pioneering video jockeys of the early noughties. In September last year, she spoke about the stigma against unmarried women in detail during an Instagram Q&A session. Anoushey said, “I’m 40 and unmarried. If you have faith in Allah, you will know that He has destined what’s best for you. If you change your perception, maybe you’re a lot better off than a bunch of married people, who’re tired of their lives.”
