The kin of officials of the city police, who lost their lives in the line of duty during the on-going war on terror, were inducted into Islamabad police. Twenty seven men and two women on Wednesday formally passed out from Islamabad police lines headquarters as constables.
“[Slain] officials of Islamabad police have left behind indelible memories and heroic examples that will continue to inspire others in the fight against terrorism and the sacrifice of these brave custodians of law will be remembered forever,” said the Deputy Inspector General of Police Headquarters Ahmed Mukarram, while speaking at the passing out parade ceremony.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan had given special instructions to accommodate the children of these police officials, he added.
He said that though there can be no compensation for the “supreme sacrifice” in service of the nation, they have endeavoured to provide relief and financial support to the bereaved families through appointing their children in police department.
He added this would allow them to serve with the same dedication as their elders did.
Like their compatriots elsewhere in the country, he said police in the federal capital have added “golden chapter” in their history.
