Latto brought the heat to the 2024 BET Awards with a dynamic performance, debuting new music at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

The "Big Energy" rapper, 25, opened her set comfortably laid out on a couch, wearing an oversized fur coat, as she introduced a fresh track that delved into her rise in the rap industry, accompanied by an electric guitar.

"Knew I was destined to be somebody with diamonds and wealth," she rapped, one of her backup dancers placing a glittering bracelet on her wrist.

Another lyric featured, "I'm just trying to sip a little wine in the rose garden," as she was handed an elegant glass of red wine, continuing with, "To the next girl with dreams of making some bold moves/The love they never showed me is love I'll show you."

Following this, Latto transitioned seamlessly into her latest single "Big Mama," revealing a leopard-print two-piece outfit and igniting the stage with a high-energy dance performance.

Massive neon lights spelling out the track's title illuminated behind her, before she concluded her medley with her recent release "Sunday Service."

Latto's performance comes just days after the release of "Big Mama," the lead single from her upcoming album Sugar Honey Iced Tea.

She is also a nominee for several awards, including best collaboration for her contribution to Lola Brooke's "Don't Play with It (Remix)" featuring Yung Miami, and best female hip-hop artist.

In May, Latto surprised fans by expressing dissatisfaction with her previous albums on X (formerly Twitter), stating that her new album would surpass them: "All these songs suck Album otw & it will be washing these."

Despite her critique of earlier work, Latto has collaborated with significant artists like Mariah Carey and BTS’ Jung Kook.

In a CNN interview last year, she reflected on her collaborations and expressed optimism about her future: "Once you work with Mariah Carey, anything is possible."

The 24th annual BET Awards, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, featured performances by Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, Tyla, Monét, YG Marley, and Will Smith.

The event aired live on June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
