In an exclusive program entitled ‘Honouring the Heroes’, SSGC paid tribute to its Pro-cycling team comprising of men and women cyclists who won laurels for the country and the Company in national and international events held during 2023-24.

Special shield and memento were presented to the captain of SSGC Pro-cycling Team, Ali Ilyas by Imran Maniar, Managing Director, SSGC for his monumental historic achievement at Asian Road Cycling Championship held in June 2024 in Almaty, Kazakhstan where he bagged two gold medals, becoming in the process, the first Pakistani to achieve this feat in the Asian Circuit.

Men and women cyclists including Abdul Razzaq, Azan, Habibullah, Rabia Garib, Natalia Khan, Rajia Shabbir and others who won top positions in national and international races held in 2023-24 were presented shields by MD SSGC.

Services of SSGC Pro-cycling team officials including team coaches, mentors and support staff were also acknowledged by the organization and they were also conferred with mementoes. Audience comprising of SSGC executives and employees were present in large numbers to encourage the national heroes. During the program a video showcasing spectacular performances by SSGC riders during 2023-24 was also displayed.

Star cyclist Ali Ilyas while addressing the audience said that while he was ecstatic about making history in Almaty, his mission was to help the next generation to go beyond what he had achieved.

He also thanked the media fraternity for always promoting the triumph of cyclists through its vast coverage.
