Donald Glover, known for his multifaceted career as a rapper, actor, and filmmaker, has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming movie "Bando Stone and the New World." The debut took place during an advance IMAX screening of "A Quiet Place: Day One." Glover, who also performs under the stage name Childish Gambino, had previously hinted at the trailer's release through a social media post, sharing a picture of ticket stubs to the screening with the caption, “Bando Stone trailer is coming tonight @imax.”
The trailer, which has not yet been officially released online, was recorded by a fan and shared on the Internet. The footage begins with the character Bando Stone appearing confused in an empty world, soon encountering a mother and her child. The scenes depict a series of dystopian events, including sea monsters and alien lasers, culminating with the question, “What are you when the world ends?”
The film stars English actress Jessica Allain and is produced by Glover’s creative studio, GILGA, in association with RCA. There is no official release date yet, but both the movie and its soundtrack, also titled "Bando Stone and the New World," are set to be released this year. This soundtrack will be Glover's final album under the Childish Gambino moniker, following the release of "Atavista," a polished version of his 2020 album "3.15.20."
"Bando Stone and the New World" will screen exclusively in IMAX theaters.
