Coldplay, the iconic British rock band, is set to headline Glastonbury for an unprecedented fifth time in 2024, solidifying their status as the festival's "house band."

Known for their anthemic hits and massive global appeal, Coldplay first graced Glastonbury in 1999 at the New Bands Tent, gradually ascending to headline status under the impressed gaze of festival founder Michael Eavis.

Their upcoming performance on Saturday night marks their return to the Pyramid Stage, reaffirming their title as the most successful group of the 21st Century.

At the helm of Coldplay stands Chris Martin, the band's chief songwriter and frontman, whose personal life often garners as much attention as his musical achievements.

Martin, 47, remains a tabloid fixture due to his relationships with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whom he "consciously uncoupled" from in 2014, and his current partner, Hollywood star Dakota Johnson, 34. Reports suggest that Martin and Johnson are engaged, although they have not publicly confirmed it.

Martin, known for hits like "Fix You" inspired by personal experiences, continues to navigate fame alongside co-parenting his children, Apple and Moses, with Paltrow. The couple, who married in 2003, maintain a close friendship post-divorce, prioritizing their roles as parents.

Coldplay's journey to global stardom began in the late 1990s when they caught the attention of BBC Radio 1's Steve Lamacq, becoming the first independent band featured on the Evening Session.

Their debut album "Parachutes" in 2000 launched them into international acclaim with hits like "Yellow," followed by a string of successful albums including "A Rush of Blood to the Head" in 2002.

With over 100 million albums sold, numerous awards, and a current global tour, Coldplay continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Chris Martin's net worth, as reported by the Sunday Times Rich List 2023, stands at £160 million, reflecting both the band's commercial success and his own entrepreneurial ventures.
