QUETTA:

Torrential rains in the Awaran district of Balochistan have led to the disruption of ground traffic in the area.

The road linking Awaran to Turbat was closed to the heavy rains.

Additionally, the N-70 national highway at Dhana Sar range has been blocked by a landslide, cutting off Balochistan's ground connection with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that heavy rains hit various areas of Awaran yesterday, including Bedi, Sorab, Bazaar, Mashi, Pirandar, Mashkay, and Jhawa, causing flooding in local streams.

No reports of casualties are reported in Awaran, and local authorities are actively engaged in relief efforts for the affected regions.

National Highway Authority (NHA) officials have also confirmed that the N-50 section in the Dhana Sar area is closed to all traffic due to heavy rains and a landslide. Efforts are underway with machinery mobilized to clear the road.

Authorities in Zhob and Qila Saifullah districts have been advised to divert all traffic towards alternative routes on the N-70 national highway.
