LHC bars Punjab education boards from increasing admission fees

The LHC's Rawalpindi bench barred the education boards in Punjab from increasing admission fees of private students.

The Lahore High Court's Rawalpindi bench barred the education boards in Punjab from increasing admission fees of students from private educational institutions.

The boards had ealier increased admission and other fees by 600 to 1000 per cent. All 8 educational boards in Punjab increased charges because they did not recieve grants from the Punjab government.

The All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association filed a petition against the move. Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmed heard the case and issued a stay order against this increment.

Heads of all education boards have been summoned on July 8 to explain their views.
