UN conference on Afghanistan starts today

The Afghan interim government will formally participate in this year’s conference

ISLAMABAD:

A two-member Pakistani delegation is going to attend the 3rd Doha Conference on Afghanistan that is going to start today (Sunday) in Qatar’s capital.

Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Asif Durrani, and diplomat Ahmad Naseem Warraich will represent Pakistan.

Warraich is the assistant secretary for Western Asia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The United Nations will host the third two-day Doha negotiations starting on June 30.

The Afghan interim government will formally participate in this year’s conference.
