At least five dead after an ambulance clashed with oil tanker in Rawalpindi

Collision occurred on Attock-Rawalpindi road; Rescue 1122 sources notifies three injured people sent to hospital

RAWALPINDI:

At least five people were killed when an ambulance transporting a stroke patient from Attock to Rawalpindi collided with an oil tanker on Saturday.

The accident also left three people injured.

According to rescue sources, the ambulance from Rescue 1122 was en route to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to a lack of facilities at Attock District Hospital.

The collision occurred on the Attock-Rawalpindi road.

The crash claimed the lives of a medical technician, the patient, and three of her relatives. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old rescue worker Imran, 52-year-old Shaheen, 70-year-old Kamna Bibi, 44-year-old Riaz, and 40-year-old Samina Bibi. The ambulance driver, Waqar Ahmed, sustained severe injuries.

Other injured individuals include 60-year-old Abdul Waheed and 36-year-old Rukhsana Bibi.
