A training session, organised by the Hari Welfare Association (HWA) for rural women concluded on Thursday. Speaking at the conclusion ceremony, HWA President, Akram Ali Khaskheli, stated that the association has trained 200 rural women in Matiari district on how to start small businesses.
Khaskheli emphasised the skills and potential of women in rural Sindh, highlighting activities such as embroidery, quilt making, cap making, and basket weaving. However, he noted that no government measures have been taken to turn these skills into profitable businesses.
Another speaker, a leader of the Hari Trade Union pointed out that women possess valuable handcraft skills and, with proper training and opportunities, the women of Sindh can achieve economic stability.
