As India prepares to face South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, analyst Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed confidence in India's ability to counter South Africa's formidable bowling attack.

The final, scheduled for today, promises to be a thrilling encounter between two unbeaten teams.

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo's Timeout, Manjrekar acknowledged the strength of South Africa's bowlers and the tactical prowess of their captain.

“It is a very good bowling attack led by a captain who strategically deploys bowlers likely to make the most impact. India will be tested, but I believe their batting lineup is well-equipped to handle the challenge,” he said.

Manjrekar highlighted India's depth and versatility in batting, emphasising that different players have consistently stepped up when key performers have had off days.

“If the usual suspects don’t perform, someone else steps up to handle the situation. That's how India will play,” he added, reflecting on the resilience and adaptability of the Indian team.

Despite the formidable challenge posed by South Africa's bowlers, Manjrekar remains optimistic about India's prospects. He also noted the potential impact of South Africa's batting performance on the final outcome.

“The South African batting will be the major issue that will decide the fate of the match and the difference between the two sides,” he concluded.

As anticipation builds for the final in Barbados, cricket fans around the world eagerly await to see if Manjrekar's confidence in India's batting prowess will be justified.
