James Blake and Lil Yachty have dropped their much-anticipated collaborative album, Bad Cameo.

The album represents a significant partnership between the two artists, who found mutual inspiration in each other’s work.

Initially connecting in 2020 when Yachty praised Blake’s album Assume Form, the duo began collaborating, drawn together by their shared passion for innovative, ambient music.

Discussing their creative process in an interview with Zane Lowe, Yachty credited Blake with pushing him to elevate his songwriting, noting, "just being around and experiencing him work pushed me to try to have reason in my songwriting and to just live up to the quality of James’ catalog."

Blake, reflecting on their collaboration, revealed a shift in his approach, stating, "there’s a certain point in your career where you’re like, ‘Well, I don’t have to do this…’ Now I’m like, ‘How can I preserve my space? How can I only have fun?’ And we just, I mean, our sessions are 99% unserious."

Bad Cameo marks Blake’s first full-length release since last September’s Playing Robots into Heaven, and Yachty’s since last January’s Let’s Start Here.

Fans can stream Bad Cameo on Apple Music or Spotify.

Looking ahead, Blake is scheduled for Italian shows in July and performances at Bumbershoot and Beautiful Block Party festivals.

Meanwhile, Yachty will headline several upcoming shows across Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New York.
