‘Criminal Negligence’: LHC seeks health secy, DCO’s reports
LHC demands reports in a week on the measures taken to prevent the spread of dengue and to treat dengue sufferers.
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Wednesday told the health secretary and the district coordination officer to give him comprehensive reports in a week on the measures taken to prevent the spread of dengue and to treat dengue sufferers.
The officials have been asked to respond to a petition moved by Advocate Noshab A Khan that accuses the government of not doing enough to check the spread of the disease. It accuses the government of using substandard pesticide in anti-mosquito sprays; of failing to control the supply and prices of essential medicines; and of embezzling money meant for use to counter public health crises.
