Electricity Pilferage: 32 arrested for power theft

The surveillance team conducted raids at Pak Gate subdivision, industrial subdivision and Nawan Shehr division.

MULTAN: A surveillance team of the Multan Electricity Power Company (Mepco), during the raids it conducted in different areas on Wednesday, arrested 32 electricity pilferers and imposed fines of up to Rs190,000. The surveillance team conducted raids at Pak Gate subdivision, industrial subdivision and Nawan Shehr division. It found 32 consumers stealing electricity. It fined them and also moved applications for the registration of cases against 21 consumers.
