A man shot and killed his sister and her former brother-in –law in Rodala in the name of honour before escaping.

According to the police, the victim, 24-year-old Shazia, had married Usman recently.

Usman had divorced the woman, after which she had gone to her parents’ home. Her brother allegedly found her with her former brother-in-law Husnain in a room and shot them.

The suspect, Aqeel Ahmed, escaped after murdering his sister and the man.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, took the bodies into custody and shifted them to a hospital.

Regional Police Officer Dr Abid Khan sought a report from the CPO and issued instructions to form teams to arrest the murderer.

In an earlier incident, 17-year-old Abbas, a resident of Khanewal, had killed his mother Hasina Mai and sisters Samina, Amina and Aleema by shooting them with a rifle.

The Khanewal police arrested the suspect to hours later from Melsi tehsil of Vehari and seized the murder weapon from him.
