Google is discontinuing continuous scrolling on search results, according to a report from Search Engine Land publishd in tech website, The verge.

A Google spokesperson reportedly told Search Engine Land that continuous scrolling is being removed from desktop search results today. The feature will be removed from mobile results “in the coming months.”

In place of continuous scrolling, Google will reinstate its classic pagination bar on desktop. This will allow users to jump to a specific page of search results or click “Next” to see the following page. On mobile devices, a “More results” button will appear at the bottom of the search page to load additional results.

Google stated, “This change is to allow the search company to serve the search results faster on more searches, instead of automatically loading results that users haven’t explicitly requested.”
