On Sunday night in Nashville, Alanis Morissette celebrated her daughter Onyx's eighth birthday by bringing her on stage to perform "Ironic" together.
This heartwarming moment occurred during Morissette’s performance at Bridgestone Arena, the latest venue on her 2024 “The Triple Moon Tour” with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
Morissette brought Onyx onstage and led the audience in singing “Happy Birthday” — a moment worthy of a sample, simply because it features Morissette’s iconic voice singing the birthday tune.
Morissette shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Onyx, captioning it, “birthday angel girl moment 💫✨ singing ironic together 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🎂i love you so much onyx you are my dream daughter.”
On Monday night, Morissette performed the Canadian and American national anthems — "O Canada" and "The Star-Spangled Banner" — before game seven of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers. (Morissette holds dual citizenship in Canada and the United States.)
Morissette and Jett’s “Triple Moon Tour” will continue with stops in Toronto, Milwaukee, Denver, and several other cities, concluding on August 10th in Inglewood, California.
