A man and his son were shot and killed in front of the gate of the Mianwali Central Jail.
According to police sources, the cause of the incident appeared to be an old enmity.
Fateh Khan and his son Imran Khan, residents of the Phathi Pathanwala area, were shot shot daed.
The police collected evidence from the spot and shifted the bodies to the district headquarters hospital for legal proceedings.
The City Police Station is located in front of the jail.
The Saddar police station, DPO House, sessions courts and DPO office are also located near the crime scene and armed police personnel are always present at all these places.
However, the two victims were killed in broad daylight in the area.
On the other hand, according to data released by the Mianwali DPO Office, at least 56 cases of murder have been registered in nearly six months during the ongoing year in the district. Two people were killed in police encounters.
The accused in 45 murder cases have been charged, while 11 cases are being investigated. The accused in seven cases are in police remand, the report revealed.
