Bollywood veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has revealed that his son, megastar Salman Khan, "lacks the courage" to get married.

Salman Khan, the 58-year-old megastar who has starred in nearly 100 Hindi-language films, is known for his romantic roles as well as action films and has won several prestigious Indian cinema awards.

Adored by fans for his extensive body of work in the Indian film industry over the past 30 years, a question that often arises is why the 58-year-old actor still has not tied the knot.

A video has been doing the rounds on social media, where the actor’s father spoke about his son’s single status and why he never took his relationship to the next level.

"Salman easily gets into relationships with any girl but doesn't dare to get married," he stated.

He described Salman as a simple man who "always considers whether the woman he marries will be able to manage the family as his mother did."

"When Salman dates a girl, he always looks for qualities and abilities that his mother possesses," Khan's father further stated.

He added that Salman wants a "wife who would dedicate her time and attention to her husband" and children, just as his mother did.

Salim Khan also noted that Salman desires a wife who would cook for the family and handle all household responsibilities.

The eldest of the three sons of well-known screenplay writer Salim Khan has reportedly dated several prominent Bollywood actresses in the past, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali, and Sangeeta Bijlani.

His long-standing relationship with Aishwarya Rai was well-known, and it was reported that their bond nearly led to marriage before it ended.

Media reports have suggested that Salman's decision to remain unmarried might be influenced by his past relationship with Aishwarya Rai.

Salman was last seen in the thriller film 'Tiger 3', which performed well at the box office. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the film also starred Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles.

Reportedly, he will be next seen in director Vishnuvardhan's upcoming film 'The Bull'. However, an official announcement of the film is still awaited. He also has 'Tiger vs Pathaan' in his kitty with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
