The arrival of every new season brings its own set of trends along with it. Nail trends are constantly changing with the season. Summer is associated with bright, fun, vibrant and tropical colours, this has translated onto the nail trends too!

Summer is the time to travel and go on vacation, it is seemingly the perfect opportunity to look for some manicure inspo and experiment with the current nail trends.

1. Metallic & Chrome finishes

Metallics and chromes were huge on the runway this season so it is only natural that it has become a staple for many. The donut glazed nails (white/pearly chrome-finished nails) popularised by Hailey Bieber last summer are a trend that has yet to die down. Feeling indecisive? Do you think you’re ready for this jelly? Known as the lip gloss of manicures, jelly nails are a sheer and translucent look that are finished with a soft jelly-like effect. The texture looks almost syrupy but it's a fun twist on how one would regularly do their nails. Ever heard of the term, ‘your nails but better?’ Contrary to the rest of the nail trends on this list, naked nails are not as bright and colourful, however, lucky for those who like more of a clean and sleek look, this natural manicure has been a go-to for the minimalists. Nude colours and glossy finishes are all the rage right now!

3D nails are perhaps the most creative and artistic nail trend this summer. It's a style that takes creativity to an entirely new dimension - literally! 3D nails entail different styles; intricate and abstract 3D lines, bows (inspired from the coquette trend) and orchids - which currently the most popular style of 3D nails. Going on a tropical vacation? These nails are a no brainer!

Most trending nails this summer are almond shaped but this is a trend that really comes down to one’s personal preference. If you’re somebody that often dons longer nails but you’re looking to mix things up a bit, this style is totally in right now.
