Crippling gridlocks: Street criminals robbing motorists during traffic jams

KARACHI:

Crippling gridlocks are becoming a regular feature of the metropolis, these cause motorists to lose time and fuel and moreover these traffic jams give organised street criminals a chance to deprive these motorists of cash, cell phones and valuables.

On Tuesday evening after heavy rainfall, all major roads of the city witnessed crippling traffic jams.

With no traffic warden or police cop in sight, street criminals looted hundreds of motorists including women at Natha Khan Bridge, Baloch Colony Flyover and other areas.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Wajid Ali Durrani took notice of news items published in various newspapers about the broad daylight robberies of motorists and commuters during traffic jams caused by rains on different main roads of the city and sought a detailed report in this regard from Additional Inspector General Police Karachi.
