Law and order: Action against criminals, target killers will continue

KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik presided over a law and order meeting at Chief Minister House on Wednesday at which it was decided that the crackdown on criminals would continue.

The officers reviewed the law and order situation of Karachi in detail, particularly the action taken by the police and Rangers against target killers, extortionists, criminals and terrorists. It was firmly emphasised that the operations would continue without any discrimination or political bias.

It was decided that concerted efforts have been made against criminals and target killers, and that the details and names of the target killers will be made public soon. The officers decided that action against criminals and anti-state elements who indulge in criminal activities will continue. The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation and expressed satisfaction with the performance till now.

They emphasized however that even more concentrated action should be taken against criminals. It was reaffirmed that peace should be restored to Karachi at all costs.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan, IG Police Sindh Wajid Ali Durrani, Deputy Director General Rangers Sindh Brig. Zafar Iqbal, and Additional Home Chief Secretary Wasim Ahmed among others.
