The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued a formal advisory to the citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and to confirm the legality of the housing scheme from RDA before investing in any housing scheme.
The RDA has declared that by following the advisory, citizens will be able to save themselves from huge financial loss by investing their lifetime savings in an illegal housing scheme.
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza stated that the RDA has directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate to issue notices under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021 to those involved in illegal housing schemes without any discrimination.
According to the RDA DG, action should also be taken against illegal advertising and marketing and FIRs will also be filed against illegal housing schemes.
She said that the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes are misleading the public through misleading advertisements.
