As 'White Chicks' marks its 20th anniversary, Terry Crews, who famously played Latrell Spencer, reflects on the enduring popularity of the film, especially as scenes continue to captivate fans on social media platforms like TikTok.
The 2004 comedy, known for its outrageous premise of two FBI agents disguised as socialites, remains a cultural staple, with one particular scene featuring Crews' character suggesting a salad to his date only to be humorously rebuffed, recently going viral again.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Crews expressed his delight at the film's lasting impact and his transformation into a meme, saying, "I love this business more than anybody. I feel so fortunate. And believe me if you don't appreciate this business you don't deserve it. And I appreciate every second of just the fact that people want to see me or want to be here is just fascinating to me and I love every second."
The actor also discussed the possibility of a sequel, noting his readiness to reprise his beloved role.
"I'm staying in shape and I'm ready. Listen, whenever they call I'm ready," Crews stated enthusiastically, adding, "Whatever they're willing to do I'm ready when they call me. I'm in 100 percent."
Reflecting on his breakout performance in 'White Chicks,' Crews shared how the role boosted his confidence as an actor.
"That was the first time I was fully confident as an actor. I did that Vanessa Carlton 1,000 miles song in the car in one take," he recalled.
The actor described the profound impact the film's success had on his career, recounting a conversation with the movie's producer who told him, "Terry your life will never ever be the same."
