A 92-minute concert film commemorating K-pop sensation BLACKPINK's eighth anniversary, "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS," is scheduled to premiere worldwide on July 31.

This highly anticipated release from Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX will spotlight the highest-grossing tour ever by an Asian act and a female group, available in various immersive formats, including ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX.

Tickets for the film will go on sale starting June 27 at 11 a.m. ET, with sales in Korea beginning on July 17.

Directed by Yoondong Oh and Geun Min, the movie will document BLACKPINK’s world tour, which entertained 1.8 million fans globally in support of their chart-topping 2022 sophomore album, BORN PINK.

The film will premiere in over 110 countries, marking it as the largest-ever global cinema event release for a female group.

“We are delighted to collaborate once again with our longstanding partner, CJ 4DPlex, for the new BLACKPINK release,” said Trafalgar CEO Marc Allenby.

“Since their debut, we have witnessed BLACKPINK’s exponential rise to become one of the biggest names in music with a massive global appeal. Cinemas are the perfect venue to harness the power of their dedicated fanbase, and we look forward to welcoming BLINKs from around the world to enjoy this unmissable theatrical event starting July 31.”

The film will feature the tour’s iconic “Hanok” set, which mimicked the look of a traditional Korean house.

The release notes that it “mesmerized fans and press worldwide… [showcasing] an unprecedented production scale, presenting exclusive versions of BLACKPINK’s hit songs unique to this concert.

It includes performances from Seoul’s Gocheok Dome alongside footage from cities across the global tour.” The BORN PINK tour spanned the globe from October 2022 through September 2023.

“I am delighted to announce the release of BLACKPINK’s world tour film in theaters globally,” said CJ 4DPLEX CCO Jun Bang.

“ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX are the optimal formats to capture the essence and liveliness of a concert. We eagerly anticipate immersing audiences in the spectacular performances of BLACKPINK, showcasing their talent as world-class touring artists, across cinemas worldwide.”
