A mother and son succumbed to their injuries at Allied Hospital after being severely burnt when a laptop exploded inside their house in Mohalla Sharif Pura. The death toll has soared to four.

Police said two days ago, in Rana Park, Mohalla Sharif Pura, within the jurisdiction of Batala Colony Police Station, a fire broke out inside a room due to a laptop explosion, causing severe burns to nine people, including five children.

Among them, siblings Dua Fatima and Taha died on the spot, while the remaining seven were taken to the hospital.

Nargis Bibi 32-year-old, and her three-year-old son Ibrahim, succumbed to their injuries in the burn unit of Allied Hospital. Batala Colony Police handed over the bodies of the mother and son to their relatives after completing the necessary formalities.

The death toll from the fire has surged to four, while the condition of the other injured individuals in the hospital remains critical.
