HYDERABAD:

In another attack on a police checkpoint in a riverine area of Kashmore-Kandhkot district, one officer was killed and two others injured when bandits assaulted a police post on Thursday.

The incident occurred at the Miani post in the Badani police station, Gandhair, Bakshapur area. The assailants, identified as dacoits from the katcha area, fled before district police reinforcements could arrive.

Ghulam Mutafa Rajpar, Saddam Hussain, and Raja sustained critical injuries in the attack. They were rushed to a government hospital in Bakshapur, where Rajpar tragically succumbed to his injuries. The other two injured officers were later transferred to Sukkur.

Rajpar was laid to rest in an official funeral at the police headquarters in Sukkur. As of now, the district police have not filed an FIR for the incident, nor have there been any arrests made. This marks the second attack on a police checkpoint in Kashmore-Kandhkot district within a span of 17 days.

On June 4, bandits attacked another police post, resulting in the death of one officer, injuries to two others, and the kidnapping of another policeman, Ali Raza Laghari. Abdul Aziz Brahmani from Dadu district lost his life in that incident, while Shahmeer Brahmani and Abdul Aziz were injured. Laghari’s whereabouts remain unknown, and a video shared on social media by the outlaws included demands directed at the government.
