Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, made a startling revelation about his health during the Wednesday night episode of “The Dozen Trivia.”

The 47-year-old, sporting a bandage on the left side of his neck, announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

"A lot of pressure. This is all that matters. We’ve been waiting for all season,” Portnoy said regarding the trivia matchup, before casually adding, “I have cancer, by the way. No big deal.”

Portnoy later took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clarify his health status, assuring fans that he is now cancer-free.

“I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn’t the serious kind thank god. I can’t tell if [Rico] Bosco thinks cancer is funny or not,” Portnoy wrote, sharing a video of his conversation with Bosco and Dan Katz.

In the video, Bosco appeared surprised by Portnoy’s admission, to which Portnoy responded, “Because I don’t make a big show of it.”

Earlier in the day, a teaser clip from the “BFFs Pod” showed what seemed to be a cut on the same side of Portnoy’s neck, which he later covered with bandages during the trivia show. When host Brianna LaPaglia inquired about the mark on his neck, Portnoy replied that it was cancer.

Details about the specific treatment Portnoy underwent remain unclear, but his announcement has sparked widespread concern and support from fans and followers.
