RAWALPINDI:

The federal government has established a new education institution after merging three main institutions of the Ministry of Education under the cost-saving programme.

The newly established Punjab Education Curriculum, Training, and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) will replace three abolished institutions: the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Education Development (QAED), the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), and the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB).

The officers and employees of the former institutions will be integrated into PECTAA. The consolidation of the three institutions into PECTAA also involves the merger of their assets.
