RAWALPINDI:

The prices of fodder and decoration items for sacrificial animals have seen a significant increase in the open market this year, with rates rising by 27 to 35 per cent compared to last year.

In addition to this, hundreds of temporary stalls selling these items have been set up in various streets, markets, and livestock markets. Fodder and decoration items are also being sold on carts, making them available in every nook and cranny.

Green fodder is now being sold at a record price of Rs150 to Rs200 per kg. Other types of fodder, including black gram, husk, straw, and mixed chopped fodder, are also available but at similarly high prices. Specifically, mixed chopped fodder is priced at Rs150 per kilogram, complete uncut fodder with green leaves at Rs200 per kg, and a bunch of uncut fodder is being sold for Rs500.
