President gives assent to four bills

Bills aim to reform the governance of postal services

ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari has signed into law four bills aimed at ending government patronage for several state institutions, paving way for greater autonomy.

Zardari approved the Pakistan Postal Services Management Board Amendment Bill 2024, which will reform the governance of the postal services. He signed the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Amendment Bill 2024, ensuring similar reforms for national shipping entity.

The president also ratified amendments for the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation and the NHA, under the 2024 amendment bills, respectively.
