21 killed in Punjab road crashes

1,380 more were injured in 1,296 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours

At least 21 people died, whereas 1,380 were injured in 1,296 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 622 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 758 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.

The majority (75%) involved motorbikes. Furthermore, the analysis showed those 752 drivers, 40 underage drivers, 177 pedestrians, and 472 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 290 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 334 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by Faisalabad 94 in with 90 victims and at third Gujranwala with 83 RTCs and 86 victims.

The details further reveal that 1380 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 1148 males and 253 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 178 were under 18 years of age, 782 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 446 victims were reported above 40 years of age. According to the data 1150 motorbikes, 74 rickshaws, 134 cars, 28 vans, 11 buses, 27 truck and 99 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
