Release date, cast: Everything we know about 'Mirzapur Season 3' so far

The release date of Mirzapur Season 3 has finally been revealed. The much-anticipated web series will stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 5. 

The platform has been sharing videos and posts teasing the audience regarding the release date of the third installment. In a post shared recently, Pankaj Tripathi who plays Kaleen Bhaiya from the much-anticipated web series revealed to the audience that they need not wait until September 2024 for the upcoming season.

The story of Mirzapur revolves around Kaleen Bhaiya, a crimelord with a carpet business as a front, and the Pandit brothers, Guddu and Bablu. The first season was a major success, praised for its gripping storyline and powerful performances. The second season kept its promise to have audiences hooked with its twists and turns. 

The shooting of season 3 officially kickstarted in July 2023. Ever since then, fans have been waiting to know more details about the next chapter of the series. On March 19, at an event hosted by Prime Video, the first look of the third season was unveiled and fans have not been able to keep calm since then.

During the event, Fazal shared that the third season will retain the essence of the debut season. He noted that while the new season will introduce fresh characters, some familiar faces will exit the series. Fazal emphasised that the third season promises to be even more thrilling. Tripathi will be reprising his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, Fazal will return as Guddu Pandit, Rasika Dugal will reprise her role as Beena Tripathi and Shweta Tripathi Sharma will be seen as Gajgamini Golu Gupta.

“With Season 3, the stakes have gone notches higher and the canvas has become bigger,” Prime Video said in a statement as per Variety. “However, the rules remain the same while all eyes are on the coveted throne in the fictional world of Mirzapur. The big question prevails whether the throne of Mirzapur will be earned or snatched in a battle of power and dominance where trust is a luxury that no one can afford.”

Before the official release date was announed, the streaming company dropped a caricature of the show's lead characters in an Instagram post. In it, was a note which mentioned that the show’s release date is hidden somewhere in the photo itself. That's when the guessing game began. 

 

Fans of the show started connecting the dots with the elements in the photo and leaving their guesses in the comments of the post. Most guessed the release date to be July 7, others felt it could be August 7. Now, with a confirmed release date, fans can rest easy and gear up for a thrilling watch in the near future.
