KARACHI:

Members of student unions enrolled at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology staged a protest against the administration for suspending their admissions.

The protestors decried the anti-student union steps of the FUUAST management. They blocked the track of University Road from NEPA to Expo Center due to which long queues of vehicles were formed on University Road.

On this occasion, the protesting students said that they are demonstrating against the usurpation of their rights. They said that the FUUAST officers have warned them of destroying their future if they do not give up student unions.

The protestors told the media representatives that the FUUAST administration has issued a notification to ban student unions on college premises, which the students reject. The ban on student unions should be lifted, the orders suspending students’ admissions should be revoked, and the FIRs filed against students due to their involvement in union should be cancelled, they said.
