The Indian Cricket Team has once again showed why they were favourites going into their T20 World Cup clash against rivals Pakistan by comfortably beating the Green Shirts by six runs.
Batting first, after losing the toss, India were bowled out for 119 runs in 19 overs.
Top scorer Rishabh Pant was India's star during the first innings scoring 40 runs off just 31 deliveries. Axar Patel made 20 off 18 and captain Rohit Sharma scored 13 off 12 deliveries.
No other Indian batsman manage to score in doubl digits.
Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each while Mohammad Amir bagged two in a splended display of pace bowling.
Both Rauf and Amir were on a hat-trick chance during the first innings.
The Green Shirts opened their chanse with captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scoring 13 (10) and 31 (44).
Jasprit Bumrah was chosen as Man of the Match for taking three wickets and giving away only 14 runs in four overs.
Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja put the brakes on Pakistan boundaries with the former grabbbing the crucial wicket of Fakhar Zaman.
Pakistan scored 26 runs losing three wickets between over 11 and 15. The required run rate quickly spiked as the Green Shirts kept losing back-to-back wickets.
In the end India held their nerves nad managed a six run victory over their arch rivals.
With 2 points added to their tally, India became Group A leaders ahead of the US while Pakistan were atf ourth posiution between Canada and Ireland.
