The two suicide bombers who struck within minutes of each other in the heavily guarded Civil Lines area of Quetta appeared to be targeting the Frontier Corps. The first bomber blew up his vehicle near the car of the deputy head of the paramilitary force in Balochistan, Farrukh Shahzad. The second bomber then reportedly rammed his vehicle through the gates of his house, detonating what must have been a heavy load of explosives. Several guards were killed, as was Shahzad’s wife. He himself is reported to have been injured and his house badly damaged. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the blast which they say is revenge for senior al Qaeda leader alMauritani’s arrest. The details will continue to come in; the police have gathered around the spot of the incident. But in many ways, their findings, whatever they may be, are irrelevant. What is most disturbing, beyond the toll of death, is that the terrorists were able to bring vehicles laden with explosives into a ‘red’ security zone. No one appears to have challenged them as they drove to a point close to the commissioner’s office. We must ask how this breach occurred; an inquiry is required. There have been many other such lapses before.
In the kind of times we live in, we simply cannot allow security lapses to continue. The security apparatus needs to improve its performance, especially as far as intelligence on the militant outfits targeting government forces is concerned. Furthermore, the possibility of the attackers getting inside help from some sympathisers must also be explored. Means to do so must be discovered; expert help sought for this. It is pointless to have hordes of policemen or paramilitary forces guard buildings or stand at pickets if they can do nothing to stop the killers or prevent them from striking at will.

@Tanvir:
I am certain that you are saddened by this and you mean well, but I see you and other people using the term "martyr" and it bothers me.
How are these people martyrs? Did someone who was on their way to work ask to become a "martyr"? The fact is that they are victims of a horrific crime perpetrated by animals who deserved to be eliminated from the face of this earth.
You people throw around the words "martyr", "shaheed", "shahadat", etc. very loosely. This is symptomatic of this syndrome of denial that plagues the entire country.
Words mean something, please use them carefully.
@AJkhan the only point i would disagree is hospitals refusing to treat afghanis etc Hospitals need to unbiased in their treatment or the same racial hatred will stop doctors from treating any one different ie religion sect ethnicity.etc Courts and hospitals always need to be impartial
@A J Khan: And stop supporting terrorism in India & Afghanistan !
it is very bad and the killing of the mens of forces of Pakistan is the dangerous alarm for the current Govt. in the killing people one is from Swabi name Malak Sher and he has 2 child and his father was also died in the army in 1991 it is very very sad news for our people that he also died in this blast because his mother have only one other son and he is very small may Allah be bless all the deceased peoples in this blast and specially the force men of Pakistan
@A J Khan: There's one thing in that list that probably should be taken out. Poverty does not breed terrorism. People don't usually consider blowing them and many others up as a viable option even if they are poverty stricken. It's a fairly automatic reaction by humans in general to reject something like that. For it to happen requires a form of learned behavior. It resides in a way of living being adopted. Similar to the concept of the reason behind many religious people not doing certain things. It's not because they don't necessarily want to but because they believe shouldn't and restrain themselves.
The special factor isn't anything commonly mentioned. Probably because it's so simple and the situation is viewed as nothing but complicated so they reject it. The factor is simply someone easily influenced. That is not something inherent in poverty. It's common in sheltered people. Such as those who are only given one side of a story when the other side being known would make them reject it. If they have no outside knowledge beyond their general area of living, they're a very good candidate. The poor just have a good chance of living under those conditions. But, so could a spoiled and rich brat.
To correct the situation in Balochistan/Pakistan some measures are suggested:\ 1. All the Afghan Refugees should be sent back to Afghanistan irrespective of the resistance by UNHCR which see these refugees as their source of earning. 2. Illegal vehicle /non custom paid vehicle should be taken into custody. These vehicles are used in terrorism, kidnapping, gun running and all the crimes. 3. All the hospitals should bar treatment of injured Foreigners and Afghan Nationals. 4. Madrisas running on support of Arabs and Persian funds should be made accountable or else closed. As a matter of fact they have shifted the Middle Eastern War to Pakistan and Afghanistan. 5. Supporters and sympathizers of terrorists groups and their allied Political Parties should be banned and their re emergence with different name be dealt with iron hand. 6. Government Officials who are supporters and sympathizers of terrorists groups should be dismissed from services and Jailed. 7. Ruthless elimination of the criminals and crimes. 8. Ruthless elimination of corrupt bureaucrats who are increasing poverty due to their corruption . Poverty is route to terrorism. The road to poverty is paved by no one other than dirty bureaucracy
There is no red zone in Quetta specially the place where this suicide attack was staged. The Afghan refugees enter in Quetta without any checking are running big businesses. No one even dare to put an iron hand on them because of being sacred cow and strategic assets. This has developed a trend of illegal business of Drugs , weapons and most importantly the NON-Custom Paid vehicle (NCP) i.e Kabuli Vehicles and it is confirmed that a NCP was used for this human loss. Quetta is now planted with explosives and this carnage and arrest of Al-Qaeda members will raise the US to demand for action against the save heavens of Tailaban , Quetta Shura in bordering areas of KPK. This demand will bring a very dangerous situation in Balochistan which is already in war since Musharraf rule and the appearances of dead bodies of missing Baloch persons. Now the war on terror is shifted into Balochistan to further detestation of Pakistan which is part of US plan. For the sack of Promotions a lot number of innocent civilian and soldiers were put to stake now the game must end. US dollars wont save Pakistan but it will weaken pakistan and strengthen the ruling and decision making elites of Pakistan. Moreover, their ever interested single point agenda of of being rich in nights will further deteriorate the Pakistan of Jinnah....
An arab gets caught and 24 Pakistani's get killed. I see no logic to this madness.
