Former three-time prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Saturday stated that he has never harboured any thoughts of seeking revenge against incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan.

Chairing an important meeting of PML-N senators in Murree, he instructed the senators to actively highlight public issues in the Senate.

Emphasising the importance of unity for the nation's sake, Sharif remarked, "We sat with our political opponents to bring the country back on track. During our imprisonment, Imran Khan exerted his full force against us, even talking about removing our air conditioning while in the US. Believe me, I never thought of taking revenge on him, nor do I care about the facilities he has in prison."

Welcoming Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's sister, Saadia Abbasi, to the meeting, Sharif recalled, "I remember when Shahid Khaqan and I were in jail, Saadia Abbasi tirelessly served us day and night. She faced very difficult times. We endured so much that my daughter was arrested before my eyes. They could have arrested Maryam Nawaz outside, but their aim was to break me."

Nawaz Sharif also emphasised strengthening the party, noting his long-standing relationship with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, whom he described as a steadfast companion during difficult times.
