This impressive win propels Afghanistan to the top of Group C with two consecutive victories, edging them closer to the second round.

In contrast, New Zealand faces a crucial recovery as they prepare for their upcoming match against co-hosts, the West Indies, on June 12 in Trinidad and Tobago.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eights, which will consist of 12 games. Following this, the top two teams from each Super Eight group will move on to the semi-finals, culminating in the final match set to take place in Barbados on June 29.
