Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have reignited excitement for the next chapter of HBO’s hit series, 'Big Little Lies.'

In a recent Vanity Fair video, the duo confirmed that preparations for a third season are well underway, with Kidman admitting to accidentally spilling the beans at a golf event last year.

"I got excited," Kidman shared with a laugh.

The revelation led to a flurry of inquiries from co-stars Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, and Laura Dern, eager to know if they were truly reconvening for another season.

Kidman assured them, declaring, "But we are now! We're moving fast and furious, and Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. We're in good shape."

Liane Moriarty, author of the original novel and executive producer of the series, had previously crafted a 200-page novella that laid the groundwork for the show's second season in 2019.

It remains unclear if the upcoming book will be a published novel or another exclusive script basis for the show.

While HBO has yet to officially comment, Kidman emphasized the importance of discretion moving forward, explaining the psychological trap of discussing projects too prematurely: "Because if you talk about doing it, it's the dopamine hit of doing it. You feel like you've done it." Witherspoon agreed, preferring to wait until production is certain: "I don't want to talk about it until I'm standing in the costume on the set. Then I will confirm to you that it is happening, because it's really hard to stop it once you're on set in costume."

The anticipation for 'Big Little Lies' Season 3 has been building since the second season's finale, with discussions briefly pausing after the tragic passing of the original director, Jean-Marc Vallée, in December 2021.

However, with Kidman and Witherspoon's latest affirmations, fans can look forward to another dramatic return to Monterey.
