Sabrina Carpenter has faced criticism over her new album cover, as many individuals have accused her of drawing excessive inspiration from a photo shoot published years ago in a French magazine.

On June 3, the 25-year-old pop sensation announced via social media that her upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, is set to be released on August 23.

Accompanying the announcement was a photo of the album cover, featuring her gazing over her exposed shoulder displaying a lipstick kiss.

Social media users noted that Carpenter's photo strongly resembles a spread featuring French model Tiffany Collier, where she also looks over her bare shoulder with a lipstick kiss mark.

Collier initially shared the image on Instagram in February 2018, captioning it "Happy Valentine’s Day." She also credited photographer Bruno Juminer by tagging him.

While the post by the "Espresso" singer has generated enthusiasm among fans, there have also been numerous individuals criticizing Carpenter for failing to acknowledge the original photo.
