KARACHI:

Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Senior Leader and Member of the National Assembly for constituency NA-244, Dr Farooq Sattar, has penned a letter to key authorities, including the prime minister, federal interior minister, Sindh chief minister, and Karachi mayor, urging for a concerted effort to combat the land mafia in Surjani Town.

In his letter, Dr Sattar emphasised the urgent need for a comprehensive operation to restore peace and safeguard the rights of constituents in NA-244.

He highlighted the pervasive tactics of land grabbers in his constituency, who exploit the names of various institutions to unlawfully seize land and subsequently sell plots to multiple buyers.

This nefarious activity, he noted, inflicts turmoil and injustice upon people who lose their hard-earned savings to such criminal elements.

He underscored the imperative for swift action, urging the prime minister to intervene and spearhead a large-scale operation, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army and Sindh Rangers, to crack down on both land grabbers and complicit officials facilitating their illicit activities.
