After the medicine was declared counterfeited, the authority banned its sale and use. Officials found the fake address of Korangi Karachi on the medicine’s packet.

A DRAP team found Furozyme Suspension at a pharmacy in Kallu Kot Bazaar in Bhakkar. The drug inspector sent samples to the Drug Testing Laboratory Rawalpindi which declared batch 100/S-005 of Frogzyme as fake and substandard. The antibiotic suspension has been manufactured from Cefixime USP which is used in throat and chest infections.
